President/CEOAndrew Dutler served 8-years at the Sioux City Police Department. During his time in Law Enforcement, Andrew worked uniform patrol and was selected to represent the department as the Crime Prevention Officer in 2017. He has trained over 25,000 people in the healthcare, education, retail, office, finance, worship, and industrial sectors on active killer, personal safety, crime prevention, tactical communication, and dealing with individuals in crisis. His proven tactics have helped businesses, churches and schools lower the perception and occurrence of crime, while also fostering empowerment through his passionate delivery style. Andrew was a 7-year member of the Hostage/Crisis Negotiator Team where he was lead negotiator on several hostage and crisis incidents that resulted in peaceful conclusions. During that time, he was named “Officer of the Quarter” twice, as well as received multiple department awards to include “Lifesaving Award.” Additionally, he fulfilled roles as a Verbal Defense and Influence Instructor, Mental Health Instructor, and S.A.V.E. YOURSELF® Instructor. Andrew achieved the CPTED Professional Designation (CPD) from the National Institute of Crime Prevention, and completed certifications as a Security Assessment Specialist, and School Security Assessment Specialist through the American Crime Prevention Institute.
Andrew comes from a background of mental health and substance abuse counseling. He has his Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and spent five years working residential treatment where his primary focus was environmental-safety management and crisis intervention, while working with criminal and addictive thinkers.
Andrew’s background provides a unique blend of expertise in preventing crime and responding to volatile situations with intention and tact. He has a distinct understanding of the unpredictability of human behavior and brings that viewpoint to his work. Andrew is also a S.A.V.E. YOURSELF® instructor for Sheehan Strategic Solutions LLC.

S.A.V.E. YOURSELF® Instructor and President/CEO of Sheehan Strategic Solutions, LLCChad Sheehan began his Law Enforcement career in 1994. On November 3, 2020 he was elected as the 34th Sheriff of Woodbury County, IA. Sheriff Sheehan has worked in multiple capacities throughout his career including the Hostage Negotiation Unit, Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Community Policing Unit, Honor Guard member and a Critical Incident Stress Management team member. Sheriff Sheehan developed the “S.A.V.E. Yourself” program and is a certified instructor in Rapid Response to active shooter, Conflict Resolution, Tactical Communication and DARE. With young children at home Sheriff Sheehan has made surviving workplace violence/active killer a top priority in both his professional and personal life. "S.A.V.E. Yourself" has been taught to over 300,000 people from 28 states since January 2014. Additionally, he has provided training in crime prevention topics to hundreds of businesses and schools while educating thousands throughout his career.
Sheehan Strategic Solutions, LLC will use Chad's expertise to provide training/consulting to civilians in the area of surviving violence with an emphasis on surviving the threat posed by workplace/school violence and today's active killer.
Training will focus on prevention, recognition and a proactive response. Emphasis will be placed on the proactive response to violence.

Dylan Grimsley served 10 years with the Sioux City Police Department. During that time Dylan worked as a Patrol Officer, was a Detective in the Special Investigations Unit, and a Detective in the Crimes Against Persons Unit.
Dylan had specialty training and provided service to the department in roles as a Field Training Officer, SWAT Team member, Vehicle CQB Instructor, Tac-Med Instructor, Bola-Wrap Instructor, Explosive Handler and Breacher, and a Critical Incident Stress Management Team member. Dylan also has experience as a Criminal Justice professor; teaching classes at Western Iowa Tech Community College.
Dylan received multiple awards and commendations while gaining valuable, real world experience during his career in law enforcement. He was awarded the Exceptional Duty Award for his federal investigations into gun violence in the Sioux City area. Dylan also received a commendation award from the United States Attorney’s Office for these efforts. He earned the Life Saving Award for his efforts to save a gunshot victim, who had an otherwise fatal wound to chest. Dylan is proud to have been able to use his training successfully in many stressful situations throughout his career and looks forward to passing on his knowledge to others.
Dylan has a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Dakota. He Graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, IA and is proud to call Sioux City his home. Dylan has a wife and two young children and is looking forward to the opportunity to assist your organization.

Kevin Erickson boasts an impressive career spanning both law enforcement and military service. With 6.5 years in the Sioux City Police Department and 16 years in the United States Army & Air Force, Kevin's journey began in 2005 as a Military Police Soldier within the Army. Throughout his tenure, Kevin has undertaken a wide array of law enforcement roles, demonstrating his versatility and commitment. These roles include serving in uniform patrol, excelling as a Traffic Accident Investigator and OWI Enforcement officer, and leading a team in Afghanistan as a Team Leader. Additionally, he has acted as a Protective Services Agent both in Afghanistan and in South Florida traveling abroad through North, Central, and South America.
Kevin's commitment to personal development is commendable, evident through his pursuit of specialized training. He holds expertise as a Mental Health Instructor, Field Training Officer, Precision Driving Instructor, Crisis and Hostage Negotiator, and Traffic Accident Reconstruction expert. His dedication extends to his involvement as a Peer Support Team Member and developer, with multiple life-saving training courses under his belt and real-life application of these invaluable techniques.
Academically, Kevin has attained a Master’s in Forensic Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, further enhancing his knowledge and understanding of the field.
Presently, Kevin actively shares his wealth of knowledge and experience as an instructor at Western Iowa Tech Community College in the Police Science Division. Moreover, he serves as an esteemed Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Instructor, contributing significantly to the training and development of aspiring law enforcement professionals. Recently, he also began teaching at Morningside University, further enriching the Criminal Justice System with his expertise and guidance.
